About Fallen
AI-generatedFaith Mitchell, a detective with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, receives devastating news when her mother, a retired police captain, disappears under suspicious circumstances. What begins as a frantic search for a missing loved one quickly spirals into a complex investigation that uncovers dark secrets from her mother's past on the Atlanta police force. As Faith races against time to find her mother, she must navigate a dangerous web of corruption, buried evidence, and long-hidden crimes that someone is willing to kill to keep concealed. Karin Slaughter delivers a taut psychological thriller that explores the complicated bonds between mothers and daughters while examining themes of loyalty, corruption, and the personal costs of police work. The novel skillfully balances emotional depth with pulse-pounding suspense, as Faith confronts not only external threats but also painful revelations about the woman she thought she knew. Slaughter's unflinching portrayal of violence and moral ambiguity, combined with her richly drawn characters and intricate plotting, creates a gripping read that will appeal to fans of procedural mysteries and character-driven suspense alike. The Atlanta setting adds atmospheric texture to this intense exploration of how the past can reach forward to destroy the present.

Loved the developments with Will and Sara. The crime was interesting too. I'll continue on with the next in the series. Also I hate Angie so fucking much.
