Twisted Love

Twisted Love follows Ava Chen, a sweet and optimistic college student with a dark past she's tried to leave behind, and Alex Volkov, her older brother's enigmatic and emotionally closed-off best friend. When her brother asks Alex to look after Ava while he's away, the two are forced into close proximity despite their vastly different personalities. Alex, a ruthless businessman haunted by his own traumatic history, lives by strict rules that include never getting emotionally involved—but Ava's warmth and resilience begin to crack his carefully constructed walls. This steamy contemporary romance explores themes of healing from trauma, the transformative power of love, and learning to trust again after devastating loss. The story features the popular "brother's best friend" and "grumpy-sunshine" tropes, delivering intense chemistry alongside deeper emotional stakes as both characters confront their painful pasts. Huang balances spicy romance with genuine character development, creating a story about two broken people finding solace in each other. The book appeals to readers who enjoy angst-filled new adult romance with protective, brooding heroes and the forbidden nature of falling for someone who's supposed to be off-limits. As the first book in the Twisted series, it introduces readers to a interconnected group of friends whose stories continue in subsequent novels, making it perfect for those who love binge-worthy romance series with emotional depth.
