Trial of the Sun Queen

Trial of the Sun Queen launches an addictive romantasy adventure that blends high-stakes courtly intrigue with forbidden romance. Naomi, a half-fae commoner with hidden powers, finds herself thrust into the perilous world of the Shadow Court when she's unexpectedly chosen to compete for the hand of the enigmatic Prince Hrokr. What begins as a deadly trial where competitors will do anything to win quickly transforms into something far more dangerous as Naomi uncovers sinister secrets about the royal family and realizes the competition may be a front for something darker. As she navigates treacherous alliances and attempts on her life, she's drawn into a reluctant connection with the brooding prince who seems determined to push her away even as an undeniable attraction sparks between them. This debut delivers everything fans of romantic fantasy crave: a compelling underdog heroine discovering her strength, morally complex characters with hidden depths, and slow-burn romance charged with tension. Tuli crafts a richly imagined fae world filled with political machinations, magical trials, and the kind of witty banter that makes the romance crackle. The novel particularly shines in its exploration of identity, power, and what it means to fight for your place in a world designed to exclude you. Perfect for readers who enjoy the tournament-style competition of The Hunger Games mixed with the fae court drama and romance of A Court of Thorns and Roses, this page-turner sets up an epic series with plenty of twists and an ending that will leave you immediately reaching for the sequel.
