Prophecy's light on today / by Charles G. Trumbull ; introduction by Howard A. Kelly

"Prophecy's Light on Today" offers a Christian examination of biblical prophecy and its relevance to contemporary world events of the 1930s. Charles G. Trumbull, a noted evangelical writer and editor, explores scriptural teachings about the Second Coming of Christ and end-times events, interpreting them through the lens of the turbulent international landscape of his era. The book seeks to demonstrate how ancient prophecies illuminate modern developments and provide believers with hope and understanding during uncertain times. Trumbull approaches his subject with the conviction that biblical prophecy serves as a practical guide for Christians navigating their present circumstances. He examines key prophetic passages and their potential fulfillment, encouraging readers to view current events through a spiritual framework. The book reflects the premillennial dispensationalist thought prevalent in evangelical circles during the early twentieth century, emphasizing the imminent return of Christ and the signs pointing toward the end of the age. This work appeals to readers interested in biblical prophecy, eschatology, and how faith communities have historically interpreted their times through scriptural lenses. While rooted in its 1930s context, the book offers insight into how evangelical Christians understood their moment in history and sought meaning in prophetic literature during a period marked by global upheaval between the world wars.
