About Carrie
AI-generatedStephen King's debut novel introduces us to Carrie White, a painfully shy high school outcast who becomes the target of relentless bullying from her classmates. Living under the oppressive thumb of her fanatically religious mother, Carrie has grown up isolated and afraid. But when she discovers she possesses telekinetic powers—the ability to move objects with her mind—everything changes. As the cruelty she endures reaches a breaking point, these supernatural abilities become increasingly powerful and increasingly difficult to control. Told through a creative blend of third-person narrative, news clippings, book excerpts, and testimony, King crafts a chilling tale that explores the devastating consequences of cruelty and social exclusion. The novel delves into themes of adolescent alienation, religious extremism, the brutal dynamics of high school hierarchies, and the destructive nature of unchecked power. King's empathetic portrayal of his tormented protagonist forces readers to confront uncomfortable questions about complicity, compassion, and what happens when a person is pushed beyond their limits. What makes "Carrie" endure is its psychological depth beneath the horror. It's a story that resonates with anyone who has ever felt like an outsider, while simultaneously serving as a cautionary tale about the ripple effects of everyday cruelty. King's raw, visceral prose builds tension masterfully toward an unforgettable climax, establishing the signature style that would make him one of the most influential horror writers of all time.

Carrie no me hizo sentir solamente miedo.
